As a young man I had a ridiculously narrow-minded attitude about what I’d like to draw, but happily I am now able to take delight in whatever comes my way. It did eventually dawn on me that starting a project without a clue as to how to proceed usually leads to far more satisfaction than reploughing the same old furrow.
And so it was when I started working at game developer Kuju as concept artist for Konami’s Rock Revolution game. There was to be a two week hiatus while the team was assembled and I was asked to make myself useful on that year’s iteration of SingStar, another project in its infancy.
SingStar is a game that I would never be interested in playing, but it is a fascinating thing to work on, and I was just building up a head of steam when my fortnight came to an end.
